Born in 2018 with a startup mindset, Equalia is determined to unite innovation and a 360 degree vision of institutional and corporate outreach to achieve its mission.


Our vision is a world where intensive animal farming and intensive aquaculture makes way to food production models that respect animal welfare.



Your purpose at Equalia

As Aquatic Animal Welfare Manager at Equalia your goal will be to develop and discover job opportunities to raise the standards of aquatic animal welfare in intensive aquaculture in Spain.


Reporting directly to the Executive Director, and as part of the Corporate Outreach team, you will have the opportunity to lead a groundbreaking field in Spain. The opportunities are endless and with your help we will develop this key action line that is yet to be explored.



Your responsibilities:

  • Discover new opportunities to increase welfare standards in aquaculture in Spain.

  • Establish the planning, coordination and execution of projects and campaigns created by the Corporate Outreach team. This includes measuring and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the projects.

  • Generate and collect relevant data on the aquaculture industry in Spain, its characteristics and progress in regards to animal welfare.

  • Represent Equalia before international groups and coalitions of aquatic animal welfare; as well as collaborating with other stakeholders to achieve the objectives.


What you bring to Equalia

  • Skills and knowledge in the areas of: Corporate Outreach, Corporate Social Responsibility, Political Science, Marketing and Sales, Public Affairs or similar.

  • Advanced or fluent level of English and Spanish is required.

  • Willingness to travel.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and commercial skills.

  • Effective cross functional experience, proactivity and ability to work autonomously in a high demanding environment.

  • Learning agility, adaptability and flexibility.

  • Computer skills; good knowledge of Google Docs, MS Office and Excel.

  • Availability to join immediately.



We also value

  • Experience and/or interest in studies related to marine animals and marine science.

  • Experience related to Biology.

  • Proven stakeholder management experience with senior executives or through political and/or business advocacy activities. 

  • Previous experience within animal welfare.
